CPE Supervisor

St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center Sioux City, Iowa is offering a full time CPE Supervisor position.  The position will deliver Level I and II CPE training at St. Luke’s Regional Medical, an acute care based program and in conjunction with the Ecumenical Institute of Cherokee, Iowa, a community-based CPE program.  St. Luke’s and the Ecumenical Institute are two long-established ACPE centers serving NW Iowa and adjacent areas in Nebraska and South Dakota.
The CPE Supervisor is responsible for primary CPE supervision, curriculum development and overall program oversight.  The goal is to have three extended units per year (1 community based and 2 acute care based) and one summer unit per year with clinical rotation between two hospitals for the acute care units.
Qualifications:
Ordination or advanced theological training required.  Master degree in theology or related field preferred.  Full or Associate Supervisor credential from the ACPE preferred.  Experience of 3-5 years as a certified or associate CPE supervisor desired.  This center will consider a Supervisor Candidate and assist them in reaching Associate status in exchange for a negotiated term of service following attainment of Associate status.  Life experience and/or pastoral care experience in a rural community setting desired.

Meriter Hospital and Health Services, Madison, WI – CPE Supervisor/Senior Staff Chaplain

We are looking for an ACPE Supervisor (Full or Associate) to provide CPE Supervision Level I/II for our Residency Program, 6 Month Extended Intern Units, and Summer Intensive Intern Program. The CPE Supervisor/Senior Staff Chaplain assists in the management and supervision of the Meriter Hospital Clinical Pastoral Education Program and provides spiritual care and pastoral support to patients, families, and staff of Meriter Hospital. S/he provides assistance to the Director in the leadership of the department, assists in the selection and supervision of residents and interns of the Clinical Pastoral Education program, functions as the Senior Staff Chaplain, and represents the Department on various hospital committees. The Meriter Hospital CPE Program is a highly developed and integrated program of spiritual care for patients, families, and staff in this 458 bed community based hospital. Meriter Hospital has a full complement of clinical services with COE’s in cardiac, women’s health, ortho/spine, with clinical services in oncology, psychiatry, and general medical/surgical care. Associated with the Meriter Hospital Department of Spiritual Care is the 120 member Association of Spiritual Caregivers which links community clergy and spiritual caregivers with the Department of Spiritual Care for clergy/spiritual caregiver education and development. The Department delivers 24/7 spiritual care through 24 Night Chaplains coordinated by this position with monthly education/training.  

Qualifications: Full ACPE Supervisor (or Associate Supervisor) credential, ordination with ecclesiastical endorsement, and CPE Program administration and supervision of Accredited ACPE Programs. Association of Professional Chaplains Board Certification and advanced degree preferred.
