Gundersen Lutheran Health System,
La Crosse, WI – Residency positions available. This is an opportunity to
engage CPE in a medical setting that is nationally recognized for end of life
care. We are currently accepting applications for our year-long Residency
beginning August, 2012. Thanks to generous support from the Gundersen
Lutheran Medical Foundation, your tuition cost is only $200.00 per unit.
Residents’ stipend is $29,500 in addition to health insurance and other
benefits. GLHS is a Level II Trauma Center, a 325-bed comprehensive hospital and
clinic nestled in the scenic bluffs along the Mississippi River Valley with a
reasonable cost of living. We offer clinical placements in our hospital,
hospice program, and a Late Life Palliative Care residency. Minimum of one

Extended Unit Openings
An Extended Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education will be available at Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL, as a Component Site of Resurrection Health Care CPE (in process). The unit will be separated into two 11-week segments. The first segment will begin the week of March 12, 2012 and conclude the week of May 25th. The second segment will begin in the first week of September, 2012 and conclude the week of November 16th. Chaplain interns are expected to participate in both segments and will be given credit for a full unit of CPE. One day a week will be devoted to seminar participation (day yet to be determined) and one day a week dedicated to clinical visitation. Some on-call may be required.
